This article explores the practise of pearl fishing and cultivation throughout history. In the 20th century, the discovery of cultured pearls changed the foreseeable future of this trade, indefinitely. A Japanese business owner created a method to produce pearls by cultivating them inside oysters, in a farm environment. These cultured pearls were
